The runaway NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

Can a simple concept shift your entire world? Bob certainly thinks so. When it comes to loving your neighbors, rather than focusing on having the “right answers” or checking the “right boxes,” what if you decide to simply DO love? To shamelessly show love and grace to those around you? What would that look like?

It might look like spending sixteen days in the Pacific Ocean with five guys and a crate of canned meat. It might look like taking your kids on a world tour to eat ice cream with heads of state. It might look like taking a road trip with a stressed-out college student–even though you just got married a few days before.

In Love Does, Bob shows you:

how to live a fully engaged lifehow to stop putting things off until “next time” and instead find your place of imagination, whimsy, and wonder todaythat God usually chooses ordinary people to get things done

When love does, life gets interesting. Light and fun, unique and profound, the lessons drawn from Bob’s life and attitude in this collection of stories just might inspire you to be secretly incredible, too. If you love Love Does, don’t forget to check out Everybody, Always and Dream Big for more of Bob’s delightful and inspiring stories!

Please, buy the book. For real. I can’t say enough good stuff about it.
This book is incredibly amazing. I read it for the first time last year and then re-read it again this year and will most likely read it again next year. The first time I read it I told everyone around me stories about it. Then I passed the book around and a whole group of family and friends read it. Then I gave my copy away and bought another copy. I’ll probably be giving this copy away eventually and then I’ll buy another one. Really though, I’m happy to buy more copies from time to time because all of the money the book makes goes towards building schools for children Uganda. (The book has sold over a million copies, by the way.)Bob Goff narrates the book in an easy-going, personal, down-to-earth style. His life is packed with the extraordinary because he refuses to live life in an average way. When he decides he wants to do something, he does it and he does it with love. I’m challenged to LIVE out love every time I pick up “Love Does” because living a life full of God’s love really does change everything.Bob Goff words brim with love and enthusiasm for people, *all* people. It’s so extremely clear that he understands that people, not things, are the most important things in life. His stories are extremely mind boggling, and I don’t say that lightly. The first time I read the book my mouth kept falling open and I’d have to put the book down to run and tell a sibling all about what had just happened. And then find someone else and tell them about it. Even now, in my second read through, I want to tell everyone about it because it’s *that* good!I was shocked when I looked at Amazon and saw that some there were some 1 and 2 star reviews. (Although 86% are 5 star and 9% are 4 star.) After thinking about it for a while, I realized that some people were reading the book with the wrong attitude in mind (some people commented that it was a book of Bob bragging). When I read the book I was totally challenged to have a love that does, not just is. Bob talks about great things he’s done, but I never felt it was in a bragging way… Instead it felt like he was so incredibly excited and enthusiastic about living the life that God has for him that he wants to do anything and everything he can to help other people live the life that God meant for them to live, as well.Take for instance the fact that he put his personal cell phone number in the back of the book and said “If I can do anything at all to help you or if you just want to say ‘hey,’ then go ahead and give me a call.” And then he always answers the phone. I was watching an interview and he says he gets around 100 calls each day and he always answers the phone, even if it’s in the middle of the night. That, my friends, is an incredible way to live a life of love. He’s a lawyer (the story of how he became one is, in and of itself, worth buying the book to read), and he regularly travels to Uganda to help the children there. The average age of the population in Uganda is 14 because the country has been torn apart by war. Bob talks about how when he first went over there were tons of kids in prison, so he began looking into what that was all about. It turns out that the kids were being put in prison for extremely small things (such as if a parent complained about how a teenage boy looked at their daughter, then the boy would go to prison), and there wasn’t a system in place, so the kids just sat there… for literally years. So he came back to the USA and gathered a group of lawyers and judges and then went over to Uganda together and got a court in session and began trying the cases and setting dozens of children free. Then of course they needed to build a school for the kids (hence where the proceeds from this book go), and I could go on and on, but really, you should just read this book for yourself.I have a feeling that this book isn’t going to be very coherent because I’m so very amazed and happy buy it. Really, you should just go buy it and be challenged and laugh a ton and change the way you see life and then change the way you live life. Also, you should look “Bob Goff” up on YouTube. Here’s one of his talks:[…] (Please note, although he is very sensitive with what he says, the story might not be appropriate for children.)And now, please buy the book.

a Purchase I’d Make Over and Over Again! 💛
My Amazon Review:Once again, Amazon proves to be the best online shopping experience out there! The book arrived safely and timely, and, in my opinion, in a better condition than the books I buy off the shelves of bookstores. Not to mention, the prices here are unbeatable! I scoped this book out at Barnes and Noble and then shamelessly ordered it from Amazon right there in the store since they declared they don’t price match anything. Two days later, I pulled it out of my mailbox, opened it up, and it was as if human hands never even touched it! Not a scuff, not a scratch, not a tear, dent, or bend. Being a Prime Member with free 2-day shipping has paid for itself five-times over by now.My Book Review:Bob Goff has a way of writing that is truly magical. I’m sorry that I’ve never picked up his work before now! As a follower of Christ, this is a must-read.Heart-warming and thought-provoking, these stories are truly entertaining, so much so, you’ll be questioning if this isn’t a work of non-fiction! I’m reading, thinking, where’s the movie version of this book?! The imagery is not overwhelming, but it’s enough to capture the mind of the reader and envelop them in the story. There are so many nuggets of wisdom in this book, that I had to read it with a highlighter by my side. While some of these may challenge your current understanding, each concept is very well developed. I applaud this.Even if you aren’t a Christian, you may find this book very rewarding. Goff looks at God from an angle not everyone is familiar with. We grow up thinking all Christians are solely focused on following the rules. He shatters this idea, stating that our purpose, as children of God, is not to be caught up in following the rules, but caught up in loving people, and not just saying you love them, but SHOWING you love them. Hence the title… Love DOES.For the record: I usually write reviews when things really suck or are really awesome. I don’t write reviews for nothing. And if I could’ve said anything bad about this book, I definitely would have… But there was literally nothing negative to say. Hope this helps you. Happy reading!

    Inspiring and moving
I was gifted this book by my friend who is Muslim after I got baptized. I include the religion because I was baptized as Christian. She was touched by the book and gifted me the book she had written notes in. It’s my favorite book to date. I purchase it for others who I think would also enjoy Bob Goff’s message and perspective. Bob seems to move through the world in a way that is so unique and you can feel it through his fun stories. After I had finished reading the book I figured I’d take a shot at calling him thinking I’d just leave a voicemail about how moved I was by his book and to my surprise he answered! We discussed how the book ended in my hands, my baptism and that he just so happened to be at that church a few weeks before I called him. If you’re looking for a book that’s easy to read and inspiring this is it.

A really good book – written in an engaging way that hooks you from the start. It’s funny, it’s uplifting, it reminds you what Christianity should be about without being remotely preachy. It’s a lovely book and I read it in 2 sittings – only stopped the first time because I needed sleep & couldn’t wait to get back to it. I’ll be reading more of his books.

Longing for adventure and for a deeper relationship with God, this book is a real treasure along the way. Goff writes heartfelt, inspiring stories and somehow manages to teach you more about Jesus than most of the sermons I’ve heard in my life, however well-written and executed they were. While reading, the list of people I want to give this book to grew longer and longer. Can’t wait for it to come out in German, so more of my friends can read it.
