Unforgettable read
Reading this with a small group of women was a powerful and deeply convicting experience. The book pierced our hearts (each of us in different seasons of life, married and single) with its profound clarity and unflinching honesty. The author writes with boldness and beauty, painting unforgettable images that stuck with us long after we finished reading. It gently but firmly called us back to truth. I’d recommend this to women of all ages, even younger readers, as it offers an invitation into a deeper, more intentional walk with God. MUST READ for Christian Women—exposes sooo many lies we’ve been
Amazing book!! So insightful and eye opening. Written in the style of Screwtape Letters but it’s specifically geared towards exposing lies that are getting women away from God and their deep faith. This is one of the books that has altered my brain chemistry. Will be thinking about the contents of this book forever.

“She began to ask the Enemy for healing from the hurt she had experienced. There wasn’t much I could do to stop it (earnest, heartfelt seeking is a powerful force for her.) She began to invite the Enemy to speak the truth into her heart and heal her deep insecurities- and I can’t stop that either.” P. 142I was so touched by the poignancy of that truth that I set the book down when I read it. Staring at the wall as my eyes filled with tears, I reflected on the gentle reminder of the transformative power available to every Christian woman, yet so infrequently accessed. In our modern age we medicate, ruminate, and accumulate in an effort to soothe the wounds in our souls designed only to be healed by the balm of Gilead. Emily has surrendered her vulnerabilities in each chapter to be used by God as an offering to strengthen and transform the women who read this book. I have been so blessed by it, and felt reassured seeing such a beautiful woman struggle with the same doubts and fears. Take heart and keep growing. This is a worthy read. 💕

This book is absolutely gut-wrenching in the best ways possible. Emily highlights the enemy’s voice in such a powerful way and provides women the tools to weed out his influence in daily life so that women can orient themselves back to Christ. I have never read a book more powerful and helpful in regards to my spiritual life. By pinpointing my areas of weakness, I am more aware of how the devil works beneath the surface. This awareness helps women understand where they need Christ the most and that we’re not alone in our struggles. I was filled with so much hope reading this book.

Enlightening look at the pitfalls of distraction
As a longtime fan of “The Screwtape Letters” I was intrigued by the idea of an updated version written from a female perspective. This book was enjoyable and enlightening to read, and touched on many concerns common to women of all ages. My biggest takeaways included its emphasis on the pitfalls of distraction — particularly distractions from the constant barrage of social media — and the many ways in which women are conditioned to treat their femininity as a handicap or a burden to be overcome. I highly recommend this book to Christian women, especially if they are C.S. Lewis fans.
