New York Times bestseller
How do you hold on to hope
when you don’t get the ending
you asked for?
When Katie Davis Majors moved to Uganda, accidentally founded a booming organization, and later became the mother of thirteen girls through the miracle of adoption, she determined to weave her life together with the people she desired to serve. But joy often gave way to sorrow as she invested her heart fully in walking alongside people in the grip of poverty, addiction, desperation, and disease.

After unexpected tragedy shook her family, for the first time Katie began to wonder, Is God really good? Does He really love us? When she turned to Him with her questions, God spoke truth to her heart and drew her even deeper into relationship with Him.

Daring to Hope is an invitation to cling to the God of the impossible—the God who whispers His love to us in the quiet, in the mundane, when our prayers are not answered the way we want or the miracle doesn’t come. It’s about a mother discovering the extraordinary strength it takes to be ordinary. It’s about choosing faith no matter the circumstance and about encountering God’s goodness in the least expected places.

Though your heartaches and dreams may take a different shape, you will find your own questions echoed in these pages. You’ll be reminded of the gifts of joy in the midst of sorrow. And you’ll hear God’s whisper: Hold on to hope. I will meet you here.

God has spoken and I have listened.
I used to talk to God all the time. I knew of his glory and his goodness for as far back as I can remember. He has always listened to me and answered my many prayers on some way or another. My husband has been left speechless many times when I proclaimed that God would provide. He couldn’t wrap his mind around my trust that He would indeed provide. I’ve “strayed” a bit from that. Why I cannot say. I found Katie’s first book on my to be read list although I can honestly say I don’t know why or how it got there. I can also honestly say that I needed that book. I needed to be guided back. I read this book because I was so hopeful that she would find companionship and love for herself after giving so much of herself to all of Uganda. I dared to hope that she would have found a mate worthy of her. She and God did not disappoint. Benji, God is good. My wish is that you will both know and feel so connected to each other as you both are to God. I too have found that. There is nothing like it. And I did a little happy dance when we learn that baby Noah is on the way. So so happy for all of you and your blessed family. God is good indeed. But I needed these books. Life has been very hard. I am struggling right now and I needed to be reminded that God is there waiting for me to just give him my worries and my fears and just let him to it. He’ll take care of it for me. All I need do is ask and boy am I asking. To absolutely any person seeking or knowing the greatness of God and Christ, these books are amazing. The stories are so honest and real sometimes it just feels crazy. Fabulous true story and real life experiences. I am changed. Thank you Katie. Thank you more than you can possibly imagine.

Life changing… you must pick up a copy!
Katie Davis Majors would say she is just a young woman from Tennessee who answered God’s call to uproot her life to Uganda. Who just said a simple “yes” to what she knew her Savior was leading her to. But most see her differently. This amazing woman has become a mother to thirteen precious girls. She works for a ministry called Amazima that helps to educate children in Uganda, provide medical care in their communities, and empower women to help provide for their families. In her new book, Daring to Hope, Katie shares her continuing story of surrender, with her honest struggle to keep trusting God through the difficult days of striving to serve Him faithfully through grief and loss. Of course, this was something I could identify with as well. This inward struggle of constantly believing that He can heal, but choosing to trust His plan is best when He doesn’t heal here on earth. This struggle to continually dig into His Word, pray it back to Him and believe it to be enough, when everything else in us fights to believe what we cannot yet see.Katie says in the book, “He was growing in me a fervent, all-surpassing desire for quiet, secret places with Him. He met me in my mess and even in my doubt and assured me that He still desired my obedience and a relationship with me. I learned anew that He loved me truly, not because of who I was or what I did, but because of Christ and who He was.‘I will give you treasured in the darkness,’ He whispered, ‘riches stored in secret places so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel who summons you by name.’ He summoned me. He called me to come and find rest in Him alone.”Over and over, Katie has put her wavering, fragile heart in His hands, and He has proved, as He always does, to be faithful. And when the storms had passed… beauty. Such rich beauty, displayed through the ways He has worked in her life and woven such a beautiful story that only He could write – so that everyone reading this book can only say, “Wow. That had to be God.”I won’t give away any of the ending, because you must go get a copy of this book and read it for yourself. You will be challenged, encouraged, and be left with a sense of awe over what God is doing in Katie’s life, and what He can do through yours. All through a simple – yet not so simple – “yes.”

    A modern-day Elisabeth Elliot
Have you experienced betrayal, rejection, illness, loss, sad endings that leave your heart shattered? You are not alone. Do you ask God hard questions and do you wrestle with TRUTH seeming different from REALITY? So does Katie. Do you wonder how God can be good when He doesn’t resolve conflicts, heal fatal illness, or intervene to keep children from suffering? So do we all. Do you think you are the only one who weeps about insufferable circumstances and sorrow? You better read “Daring to Hope.” Katie’s book is no sappy cliche to help us feel better. Katie shares the truths that God helped her come to understand as she walked through difficult events that broke her heart. She doesn’t focus on her broken heart; she focuses on the light and the hope that God gave her as she suffered. She doesn’t focus on the darkness she walked through. She focuses on the God Who was her only hope of finding peace during unbearable pain. Katie writes very relatable truths–I was weeping before page 30 because my heart is still sensitive about things that broke my heart too–different things from what Katie experienced, but I could RELATE because the pain–and our healing God of hope–are the same. I am so thankful that Katie shared truths that brought healing to her so that I could find healing and hope as well. If you appreciate the profound and intimate writings of authors like Elisabeth Elliott and Amy Carmichael, you will find a modern-day author who is walking in their footsteps. The one way I find Katie to be different from the 2 authors just mentioned is an element of radiant bubbling joy that cannot be subdued. She finds a rest and joy in God that is not just resigned submission but an actual strength and empowerment to boldly love because she dares to hope. A fantastic read for spiritual health and nourishment, for mothering inspiration, and for general godly character.

One of those books which I can read again and again. Yet I learn something new for the situation. This book has really ministered to me in various phases of my life. It’s been four years since I bought this book, yet haven’t finished reading it. I rather soak in a chapter. Thanks Katie for sharing your story.

Just as with her 1st book, Katie has kindly and generously put a piece of her heart down on paper. I couldn’t get through a chapter without shedding a tear. There is so much joy on these pages, despite the sorrow in many of the stories. Katie’s heart to serve others and be obedient to her Lord and Saviour is beautiful and inspirational. READ THIS BOOK, IT WILL CHANGE YOU!

This book was so tremendous that I can’t explain but all I can say is what a great sovereign Lord we serve. I was so blessed by reading this book and also at times convicted me of my lack of trusting God for all things. It made me wish that I could be there to be used to help in some small way. I also admired the love, compassion, trust, obedience and faith which only God could give to them all but especially Katie. This book is a life changer which gives you a love for all types of people and situations.
