“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
If life hasn’t turned out the way you planned, you’re not alone. Cancer strikes. Loved ones die. Spouses leave. Dreams slip through your fingers. Anxiety and depression steal precious seasons.
But what if you knew you weren’t alone in your pain, that in the midst of sorrow, God is there?
In this 100-day devotional, the (in)courage community comes alongside you when your heart is grieving, your faith is shaking, or you’re having one of those mundane hard days. You won’t find tidy bows or trite quick fixes, just arrows pointing you straight to Jesus. Through these vulnerable stories you will
– find others with shared feelings, experiences, and difficult circumstances
– discover words to express what you might not have been able to say before
– encounter Christ in the tension between heaven’s holiness and the world’s brokenness
Each day includes a key Scripture, a heartening devotion, and a prayer to remind you that God is near and hope is possible.
Let this book be like a trusted friend, wrapping your heart with comfort and the assurance that you are seen. Together we can again find ourselves and God in one another’s stories. Together we can take heart!

Strong Reminders God is There in Tough Times!
This devotional is the best for those of us struggling with difficult times in life. Each meditation is from someone struggling. Their pathos is a balm to the difficult times we deal with daily! They let us know God is there and sometimes we need reminders to hold onto our faith and that He is holding onto us.

AMAZING devotional for these uncertain times
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this devotional book. I really enjoyed how each female author shares a Scripture passage and a personal faith story followed by a heartfelt prayer bringing readers closer to God. It’s very uplifting and encouraging during this time of uncertainty we are all going through. The books covers SO many difficult topics that are often taboo to discuss in life but specifically at church. Just some of the issues covered include marriage, fertility, infertility, miscarriage, feeling left out, Godly female friendship, daughterhood, motherhood, setting and maintaining healthy relationship boundaries, healing, grief, cancer, racism, racial justice and equality, division, injustice in general, mental health (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental health issues), the definition of true beauty, courage, shame, disappointment, despair, loneliness, healing past wounds, spiritual growth, new life in Jesus, hope, what you need to battle distraction and fatigue, laughter as grace, seeds of faith, job loss, suicide, life’s messiness, discovering beauty amidst busyness, wanting to control but instead control over to God, community, autism, “Are we there yet, God?!”, gentleness in parenthood, self-care, rest, waiting, suffering, faith to trust, when all that remains is only Jesus, it’s okay to not be okay, seasons of wilderness, gratitude, feeling God’s grace in the in-between, and lastly, God is good, but this situation isn’t.

    A (daily) Dose of Encouragement
Need some encouraging words to start your day, or keep you going when the times are tough? Take Heart is the perfect devotional to read in 2020 when so much of our lives seem far from normal. Many women, often in challenging circumstances, have openly shared their heart in these fairly brief entries in order to be an encouragement to someone else. This isn’t an answer book; it won’t solve your problems. But it lets you know that you are not alone in spite of feelings of uncertainty, loneliness, inadequacy, physical challenges and many other emotions which can drag us down if we don’t remember the true source of comfort for us all. This devotional has consistent reminders that we are cherished and loved with an everlasting love. I highly recommend this book, which will be released on October 20.“… remember that God promises to be with the brokenhearted. Period. No restrictions or expiration dates.” Mary Carver, Take Heart

It’s Real, Raw and much needed!!
When I started reading the devotional, my first thoughts were, it’s real, raw and much needed. Personally I find most devotionals on the market don’t share the nitty-gritty, the uncomfortable, they more so gloss over those parts. But this one is different! We are in a season of unrest, many of us are facing similar challenges but yet we are facing them alone. I read half the book in two days – there are several stories that have HIT home with me!Sharing a snippet below.“I have no credentials to speak of. I’m a high school dropout who got her GED. I have seventeen teeth left. …. My body betrays me in a thousand different ways. I wonder if I’m strong enough to live the life God has called me to. This is my thorn.” – Alia JoyI’ve had the same thoughts about thorns, wondering how I’m going to be able to live the life God has called me to live. I had no idea when I started reading this book how much it would resonate with me. This book would be a great gift to yourself and for a friend, or family member.

A devotional book for the hurting
This hope-filled book is for any woman going through a difficult, even heart-breaking time. Many challenging subjects and situations are addressed by over 40 different authors. Each writing is based not only on the author’s experience but, more importantly, on God’s Word. I found the writing personal, raw, and always reminding me, in a gentle way, that true hope is found in something–that is–true hope is found in Someone greater than what is to be had on earth alone. The book is complemented by a beautiful cover and would be a great gift for someone going through a hard time. However, I would rather that the chapter headings were in capital letters to show respect to God’s name. Also, as a biblical counselor, I would also encourage anyone going through deep trials to seek out someone to help walk with them through the difficult time and lead them into an even deeper walk with the Lord and His Word than this book provides. However, as I personally know so well, sometimes you just need one simple truth to help you breathe. This book is perfect for those times.

A sigh of relief, I’m not alone.
This book is a blessing. This year has been rough to say the least with fires in California covid 19 in the world and so much loss. From loosing loved ones to people losing jobs, homes it’s been a difficult year. This book brings perspective into the scene. God is sovereign, yes but he is as close to us as the mention of his name. He brings peace when we need it most. He brings joy when our strength is gone. This book of devotions is a welcomed and needed fresh air.Get a copy of book today and for the next 100 days you will have scriptures to help you when days are long and hard. You will read encouragement when loss is great. You will find validation for your grief. But it’s not just for grief it’s for any and all kinds of days you may have. Sometimes unexpected plans or days can have a happy ending. Enjoy!!

This was a great devotional for women, and I might have missed it, but I don’t remember seeing that it was geared towards women before ordering it. I am sure that the topics within pertain to men as well, tackling self-esteem issues, anxiety, etc. When I read the heading of one of the devotionals “The Foolishness of Christ” I was surprised because “fool” is a diss, but it basically talks about radical undeserving grace that we can freely accept. I bought a copy for my grieving grandma and she likes it too. It would be neat if there was a page for notes after each section or more scripture per topic.
