I was very disappointed in the other songs on the album
Sheila’s rendition of “You Raise Me Up” is absolutely magnificent! I was very disappointed in the other songs on the album, however. There was nothing I recognized (maybe she wrote these songs?). Even more disappointing, however, was that the songs seemed to be one melody repeated over and over, and a few words and phrases also repeated over and over. In other words, these songs were new to me and I wouldn’t care if I never heard them again.

『You raise me up』で検索してこれを購入しました。荒川静香さんやドラマ白虎隊で流れたものとは少し違うな〜とわかったのですが、後でCeltic Womenのほうも購入して聞き比べたのですが、私はSheilaの方が断然いい！と思います。Sheilaの『You raise me up』を聞いた後にCelticを聞くと薄っぺらにさえ聞こえてしまいます。Shilaの暖かみがあってボリューム感ある荘厳な声には思わず手を合わせたくなるほど。このアルバムには他にも気に入った曲が何曲もありますが、特に２曲目と６曲目は何度も聴き返して聴いています。是非皆さんも聴いてみて下さい。
