What if you could ask God anything? What would you ask, and how would He answer?

Chelsea Chambers is on her own. After a public split from her NFL superstar husband, Chelsea takes a bold step out of the limelight and behind the counter of the Higher Grounds Café, an old-fashioned coffee shop in dire need of reinvention. But when her courage, expert planning, and out-of-this-world cupcakes fail to pay the bills, this newly single mom finds herself desperate for help. Better yet, a miracle.

Then a curious stranger lands on Chelsea’s doorstep, and with him, an even more curious string of events. Soon, customers are flocking to the Higher Grounds Café, and not just for the cupcakes and cappuccino. They’ve come for the internet connection to the divine. Now the café has become the go-to place for people in search of answers to life’s biggest questions.

When a catastrophe strikes and her ex comes calling, Chelsea begins to wonder if the whole universe is conspiring against her quest to make it on her own. After a shocking discovery opens her eyes to the unseen world around her, Chelsea finds the courage to ask God a question of her own—and heaven answers in a most unexpected way.

    Glowing with love 🙂
A fun, cute, love filled story. When I say love, I mean the author and embodiment of love. This story is a beautiful reminder that we are never alone and always loved.

    Not vintage Mac Lucado
This is not vintage Mac at his best. It’s very different. He, and his two co-authors cross over firmly into sci-fi/fantasy. The idea of the God Blog allows some questions to be posed and answered from a wise nice place. The reader’s comfort with the answers likely reflect his or her theological/worldview. The in-fleshed guardian angels seems a bit of a stretch in Manny’s clumsiness but probably preferred to the picture perfect “Touched by an Angel.” That was a visual medium so perhaps that was needed to appeal visually to the audience. The story moves, engages, grips—at least this reader (a guy) though I think this story line likely appeal more to women. There is humor, bitterness, an unforgiving heart, suspense—how will the conflict be resolved? I found the resolution unsatisfactory. The content and concept of the God Blog required a measure of faith in uncertainty and openness in vulnerability. That was minimized in the overpowering signs that turned the tide. The internal struggles of the main characters were healed in ways uncommon to most of us. Still, 4 stars for the storyline, the stirring of imagination, and the ending even if the fulcrum to move the principles was flawed (too pat, too signy-especially since Jesus repeatedly refuses to give a sign).

    Sweet story
This book is a sweet and savory life. Ups and downs that life offers and how you choose to handle or view them. I enjoyed reading it very much.

    A Delightful read.
Delightful read. Max Lucado is a popular Christian author and until I saw this advertised I didn’t realize that he was the author of fiction. I recommend this novel.

    God is watching over us
Although I have read many of Lucado’s books, this one strikes a different cord. Not sure, but I think it may be the first adult fiction book he has written. I thought at first it was a little hard to follow and too typical, girl meets boy, he goes on to be a pro sports figure, make lots of money and they live happily ever after. The characters are more developed than I thought, and I really liked that they grew as the story progressed. They learned the lesson of grace and forgiveness. Overall a really good effort at telling a biblical story in modern-day fiction.

Real characters with real everyday believable struggles. I love the supernatural storyline parallel to the earthly one! So enjoyable to see that if we let God into our life equation, then miracles of healing can and will happen! Great read and I recommend this book for everyone to read and to enjoy.
