Another must read from Bob Goff!!!
I’m a huge fan of Bob Goff and all of his ministries. I follow him on social media and have heard him speak in public and he never disappoints. So I was anticipating the release of this book and excited to get my hands on any copy. I purchased the hardcover copy and then also received this ecopy through Netgalley.And like all his other publications Goff delivered. This book starts with January 1st and each day you read Bobisms… Biblical teachings are tied into daily life stories about Bob and his family and are intertwined with how Jesus wants us to live. Each day ends with thoughtful questions and Bible verses are scattered throughout. I enjoyed this set up because the book itself does not offer you a space to write but instead I have a notebook that I plan on keeping with the book to journal while I read. I have read through the book as a novel, and now as the year begins in 2020 I plan to open this book daily and use it in the way it was written. I appreciate the normalcy and humble way that Bob writes. He doesn’t try to blow the readers’ minds with big words and fancy ways to love and live, but instead, he simplifies Jesus’ teachings to guide them in their journey with Christ. I cannot recommend this book enough and I have already added copies to my Christmas shopping list. This book would benefit anyone; no matter their relationship with God. I also believe it is heartfelt and honest and gives great insight into His word.

I love the author’s encouragement to do something. Plans and goals are great. We will be remembered for what we did versus what we were planning to do.One powerful devotion was make sure your grace is not “Brain Candy.” Are you saying something that makes you feel good but is not grace.

Good devotional on sharing God’s love
I learned of this daily devotional through a colleague in a casual conversation about faith. Though it is not robust theologically, it is very down-to-earth and simple, pushing forth the central theme of the Bible, namely that God loves us and our lives are made complete by the love we show Him and others (Matthew 22:37-40 & Mark 12:29-31). Some of the practical applications of the verses he uses is problematic, with him really not appropriating them correctly based upon their context. However, for a young believer, it is a solid daily devotional.

It’s incredible how much Bob Goff can say with only a few words. Each day’s ‘post’ is a page long, starts with a bible verse that provides context and Bob then shares some words of encouragement using a short illustration.I found I was encouraged most days. Most of what he shares is common sense but we have this tendency to over complicate life, especially when it comes to love and compassion. One mantra I read recently was ‘let every answer to a question be compassion’. Even though I’m not sure Bob said it, it kinda sums up his philosophy – simply love and allow yourself to be loved.Practical, genuine and highly relevant. A day is better having read a page of Bob Goff’s words.
