Beautiful functional Bible
Ok, I own more Bibles than you would believe, and am kinda a nerd about them… I am not going to review the translation (ESV) but the product-ESV Single Column Journaling Bible-for what it is.First, this Bible looks beautiful and feels beautiful, it is cloth on board and just feels nice in the hand, almost like furniture. The binding is very nice fully sewn and will hold up to consistent use. The pages are durable, and one thing I love is it seems to follow the “renaissance perfect page” layout or cannons of page layout, simply put, the text on the page lines up with the text on the back side of the page. This helps with text ghosting through the page and when you underline or highlight it is less likely to be distracting on the backside of that page.There is ample room for notes, and the text of the Bible is stripped down for simplicity. There are no cross references, no footnotes, there is only section headings, chapter and verse numbers, very little to distract you from your own reflections and journaling. This Bible is also has no concordance, dictionary, notes, maps, there is one page of weights and measurements and a Bible reading plan at the end of the Bible and a ESV Preface at the beginning, that is all. This is a quality to this Bible though, as it is for journaling and for your own reflections from the text itself and not your reflections influenced by an editors interpretation (again, not a bad thing, just not the purpose of this Bible).Again, this is a quality Bible, made for its purpose which it will fill well. Would make a wonderful gift to anyone who would appreciate it.

Handsome and Well-Designed Journaling Bible

Beautiful Bible
This is a really beautiful bible. I have a few different bibles and I have to say, this one is very pleasant to read. I enjoy the cream colored paper, I think it’s easier on the eyes than white paper. The text is larger than the standard bible text, but not the biggest I’ve seen. If your up-close vision is fine, the text size is more than adequate. The pages are thicker than the usual tissue paper thin bibles, but if you’re using for journaling purposes, I would stick with a regular ballpoint pen or pencil as I can see it bleeding through with anything else. It leaves quite a bit of space and lines on the side for journaling which is nice. I do wish it was a red letter bible as I prefer seeing Jesus’ words in red, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. Overall a beautiful bible for collectors! It’s going to be my daughters first bible.

Good journaling, “non-study” Bible
This, as advertised, is an ESV journaling Bible–not just by title, but intent. To say it another way, this is not a “study Bible.” There are no cross references or commentaries of any kind. No parallel passage headings to tell you where to find a similar narrative in another Gospel. No concordance. There is a short Bible-in-a-year style reading schedule at end. That’s it.That’s not bad, though, when it’s what you want. The Bible lays flat, has a smyth-sewn binding (good), seems very durable, and has faint lines (ruling) to help you keep your marginal writing neat. The cover has a cloth-like paper feel and is floral. But you won’t notice that when using the Bible. The pages are off-white and larger print (see photo comparing ESV Teen Study Bible of a similar physical size). The printing does not show through the pages enough to be distracting. (My photo shows a little more bleed through than I notice in person.) I like the serif typeface, too. The pages “liked” by fine point gel pen and did not bleed or smear. Everything about this Bible is set up for a no-frills journaling/note-taking experience.

Great version
I like having different translations and different types of Bibles for various needs. Having a Bible that is just the text, without notes or distractions, really helps me focus on prayer and reading. This Bible is so good for that. Durable hardcover with a distinctive attractive design that’s not distracting. Wide margins for notes (or admittedly scribbles/sketches) make for a Bible that feels personal and gets even more so. Higher quality across the board than others making it a wonderful gift or a good addition to one’s own personal Bible options.

A pretty Bible
I’ve been wanting a journaling Bible for a long time. This Bible is gorgeous, the cover is simple perfect. It is hardcover which is different for me but it’s okay. The print is large which is great making it easy to read. The words of Jesus are not in red. This is a single column Bible which also makes it easy to read.

Nice Journaling Bible
This is an attractive Bible with a nice floral hardback cover. It is an English Standard Version (ESV) translation. It is labeled as a Journaling Bible, and it is pretty much that and that alone. Each page has a wide area on the sides, which would allow for copious notes to made, but there are practically no other features provided, other than a weights and measures chart, and a one-year Bible reading guide. It is also labeled as large print, but to my eyes at least, the print is not very large at all. If all that is needed is the Journaling capability, this Bible should work just fine.

This bible is perfect , being dyslexic I am fond of taking notes, the single columns make it feel less daunting to read, i can take my time and now write relevant notes right next to the scripture / word! Best ever!
