Inspiring, fast read with do-able steps to release negative thoughts
This book is a God-send, it arrived when I needed it and I’ve shared it with so many people because it’s truly helpful. Louie points out exactly how to recognize when you are being deceived, exactly what are the tools the enemy uses to destroy us with little lies we may not even realize we’re entertaining. And how to counter this battle for our mind. It all starts with our thoughts and now I’ve got a sure fire plan to protect my thoughts.

My church does a couple of Bible Studies a year. This was by far the best one yet. So much so that it was brought back by popular demand for a second time. This is great for small group or individual Bible Study. It is a great resource long after completion. The video’s that go along with each chapter can be found on YouTube to enhance each chapter’s study.

Good, useful for reminder…
Giglio really leans in on the theme of “not allowing the enemy a seat at your table. Each chapter depends on the admonition to the Christian, each time providing an alternative with the reasons found in Scripture. I would say that while no earth-shattering insights were provided me, I still found the book useful and at times, even inspiring. I read this ten-chapter book with the Christian men I encounter weekly on Thursdays. Bottom line, I’d give it a thumbs up!

Hits The Hear Hard
I’ve struggled to read books on God all the way through. I paced myself with this one because there was just so much to absorb. I actually used it as a bible study and took notes so it took me the better part of a month to go through it. But I’m glad I used it this way. This is one of the clearest writings on how Jesus’ purpose is for so much more than just to save us….but to live for Him entirely. That His purpose becomes my purpose. I’ve battle some significant health issue in my life. I thought they were just random. And I thought that I was just going to suffer. Which I have and it’s been really hard. But I also all these years gave the main seat at my table to the enemy of my mind. If I’m being honest, which I’m not so sure that I have been all these years…at least not to myself….I struggled with years and years of disordered eating which literally took over my mind and destroyed my health. But the worse things got in my mind, the worse my physical health became. Doctors can’t help me because I believe that this is a spiritual proclivity and that only God can heal certain health conditions……The scriptures in this book are carefully chosen.USE THEM!!Write them downJournal about them.Come up with creative ways to memorize them.And have them become a template for your daily living.I have more to do with this book but I just finished it now and want to just absorb it.I look forward to reading more of Louie Giglio’s work, but for now I will just sit with this one and continue my Bible Study based on the scripture in this book…..I highly recommend “Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table” for anyone period….but if you are struggling with chronic health issues, including mental health issues, then your enemy might be taking up residence in your brain, a seat at your table, and ruminating in your life that is preventing you from getting better. We are told to take every thought captive and bind every thought in Jesus name that doesn’t come from God”I pray that anyone who is struggling with health or any kind of eating disorder and you are finding your identity in your pain and suffering that you find this book, read this book, and use this book as a guide that will ultimately take you back to the Book/Bible that offers you the healing you need.I pray in Jesus Name!AMEN!!!
