The colors are perfect. Soft, no bleedthrough. I have an inexpensive Bible that I use these markers on and you can barely detect the highlight on the other side. Love the 2 tips, perfect for big and small highlighting.

Exceptionally effective. No bleed whatsoever, quick drying, no blotting, and really nice colors.The Boho earth set have a few colors that are almost too light, and a couple that are really rich and vibrant. So it creates a visual hierarchy that I don’t love (I rather them all be equally saturated in their respective colors). Packaging design could be streamlined to be storage for the pens. Right now, the box flap makes it just a little less convenient to open and close, so I ditched the box and rubber banded the pens together to keep in a drawer.Overall, though, exactly what I needed. Now I don’t have to worry about ruining my Bible with blotty ballpoints.

Highlighting in The Bible – A Thorough Comparative Review
I saw people discussing the BLIEVE brand as highlighters that wouldn’t bleed through thin bible pages. I use highlighters extensively in my Bible, and so the number one feature that I require from a highlighter is that it not bleed through the pages. I have purchased *every* chisel-tip wet highlighter on the common US market and quite a few on the Japanese market over the years, and the list of brands that fit this bill has always been very, very painfully short.MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE: SHARPIE POCKET HIGHLIGHTERS IN YELLOW/MARIGOLDSharpie Pocket Highlighters in Yellow (now called Marigold & hard to find) and Fluorescent Yellow. Other colors consistently bleed in *some* bibles, but the two yellow options *never* do, no matter how thin the page. I have a bible with pages so thin that they are almost transparent, and those two colors never bleed.The Sharpie pocket highlighter is also incredible for not smearing ballpoint ink. It really is different from the others in this regard. Bic would smear it. Other types of Sharpie would smear it. Zebra and Pilot brands would smear it, but the Sharpie POCKET highlighters never do. That’s why my ever-shrinking and almost impossible-to-find-now Marigold/Yellow Sharpie Pocket highlighters are still my favorite of all time. I might actually mourn a little when they’re all gone. As it is, these last four are nearly 10 years old from the last time I was able to find a box. I’d buy a case of them if I could, but they simply are not available anymore outside of a huge variety pack whose other colors I have no interest in and would simply be a waste. I don’t care for the fluorescent yellow color, so that leads me to the brand that figured out how to REALLY master highlighting in The Bible.MY SECOND PLACE CHAMPION: PILOT FRIXION PASTEL ERASEABLE HIGHLIGHTERS IN EVERY COLORPilot Frixion Pastel Erasable Highlighters – All of them. Every Color. The ink sits on top of the page instead of soaking into the page. They are FULLY erasable, and I did an extensive review of them on this here mega-corporation’s website back when I first tried them. I wrote a whole blog article about them. It was THAT big of a deal to find a set of highlighters with multiple colors that were all safe in a Bible, no matter how thin the pages and with a variety of safe colors. My only complaint with them was that I don’t particularly *like* the colors they come in, and that’s down to personal preference.AND THAT WAS IT UNTIL…Until I ordered the BLIEVE highlighters, that was it. That was all of them. Just the two. Sure, you can use gel highlighters or “dry” highlighters, and if you like those then God bless and congratulations, but I’m not talking about wax sticks and crayons and grease pens and gel sticks because I don’t like those.I like pen-sized chisel tip wet highlighters, and I have spent an absolutely obscene amount of money over the decades trying to find options and alternatives to the Sharpie Pocket Highlighter in Yellow that will work for use in the Bible without bleed-through.THE BLIEVE AESTHETIC BIBLE HIGHLIGHTERSThey’re GOOD, y’all. I ordered the big box with every color after reading reviews that said some of the colors bleed and others don’t. I tested them on my She Reads Truth Bible, Inspire Bible, Haydock Douay-Rheims Bible, KJV from the 1990’s, and my newest SRT Spiral Bible (on thicker paper than average bible pages).NONE of the colors “bleed.” SOME of the colors “ghost.”People interested in this REALLY need to learn the difference between bleeding and ghosting. Ghosting means that you can see the mark on one side of the page from the other side of the page. Bleeding means that the ink actually penetrates the paper and stains the other side of the page.NO BLEEDTHROUGHBLIEVE highlighters do not bleed in ANY of my bibles, and you have to understand: that is RARE. I just gave you the list of the only other two wet highlighters I have ever found in all my life for which that is true. These highlighters do not bleed.Having said that, if you press down really hard or if you go over the same line twice/overlap a lot while it’s wet, you can make it soak through. That would be true for ANY product…so don’t do that.GHOSTING MILEAGE *WILL* VARYGhosting is largely about the paper, not the highlighter, pen, or whatever else you mark bible pages with. If you can lift a page in your Bible and see the shadow of the text block from the other side, then you will likely experience ghosting with ANY marking tool of any kind in that Bible, and the darker the color, the more pronounced the ghosting will be. This is NOT “bleeding,” and it is not the marking tool’s fault. It’s just a limitation of tissue-thin papers.In my daily bible (SRT), I have ghosting from ballpoint pens, pencils, and every highlighter I have ever used. You can see absolutely everything through the super-thin pages of my She Reads Truth Bible if you hold it up to the light, and that’s a limitation of the paper. That’s just how light works.Having said that, the BLIEVE highlighters are so pale in color that ghosting from them is much subtler than the ghosting of bolder colors. If ghosting bugs you but you need a highlighter, these could really be a great option for you. The Pilot Frixion Erasable pastel highlighters would ALSO be a great option for you. Compare them and see which you would prefer.COLOR VARIATION/CHOICEI found the BLIEVE Highlighter color selection very true to what I saw on the screen when looking at them in reviewer photos and the product photos. They are mostly very light pastel colors, and the darkest of the colors are still paler in color/less saturated in color than standard highlighter offerings. The darker colors naturally ghost on thin paper more noticeably than the paler colors because – again – that’s how light works. The color selection is broad and very pretty. A few of the colors are close enough that they seem redundant, but I could see the difference between each blue, each grey, each green, etc. when they were all swatched side by side.DURABILITY OF USEI used one of the blue highlighters in a recent week-long study of Obadiah. I highlighted the book of Obadiah in three different bibles and four different commentaries. The highlighter did not go dry. In fact, it’s still just as productive as it was when I opened it from what I can see. These are not “use it two times and it’s going to fail on you” highlighters. There is a healthy, reasonable amount of ink in these bad boys. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.BARREL SHAPEI was skeptical of the oblong shape on these. Sure, it looks beautiful in my pen bag and the cup on my desk, but I worried they would be uncomfortable in my hand. They are smooth and rounded (yay for an appropriate and safe use of phthalates!), and the flat edges mean they will never roll down over the page or off the edge of your desk onto the floor. Honestly, I love it. If you’re giving them a side eye over the shape, I encourage you to find one of the smaller sets and just try them. They might surprise you just like they did for me. I actually really like the shape, even though I went in thinking I would not.MY ONLY CRITICISMThe BLIEVE barrels have no color names on the outside and several are too similar to clue you in about which one you want. For example, there are three light brown barrels that all look nearly identical, but without a color name or color number, I have to pull out all three and swatch them to make sure I’m using the same one I used last time. In addition, the barrel color does not always accurately represent the color you get on the page. The brighter colors’ barrels are kept muted to match the theme of the set, and I think they should be less concerned with the “aesthetic” and a bit more concerned with being true-to-color in the barrel design.EDITED 7 APRIL 2026 – I was mistaken when I said there was no color name written on the barrel. I missed the color names because they are very small (see image). To get my phone to focus on the letters, I had to put my reading glasses between the camera and the marker to show it. ha ha. I never saw the color names until today. They DO have color labels on each highlighter via the sticker. My apologies for the initial mistake.I LOVE THEM. They are worth the price I paid. I am beyond thrilled to have another option for highlighting in The Bible, and they are VERY pretty. Give them a try.

I initially had problems with this product as I’d been waiting almost a month for it to be delivered, so I initially gave it 1 start. However after reaching out to the company (who were very helpful), they aranges a small discount and chased up the courier. So, as a product I’d give it 4.5 stars, as it is very nice, the review which shows 3 starts reflects the long wait.

Nice but arrived late and waited ages for it to be dispatched and thy run out very quickly. They don’t last long
