Beautiful Baptism Set – Perfect for a Holy Occasion
This set is beautiful and perfect for such a holy occasion. It is a great value especially when comparing it to prices in my local Catholic shop. Just because it is a great value doesn’t mean it is cheap because I think it is absolutely lovely! The inside cover of the Baptism book has a spot to write your child or godchild’s name. The scallop shell is the perfect size and weight and adorned with a pretty little bow. The towel is microfiber and while I didn’t love the texture that is a personal preference and shouldn’t dissuade you from purchasing this set. The rosary has a lightweight metal cross on it which was much better than the plastic I was expecting. My favorite item was the candle wrapped in fabric with the Virgin Mary embroidered on it. It was beautiful, seemed of good quality and without imperfections. I’m so pleased with this set. I wish it was packaged in something a little more elegant looking so the items could be saved in it, but again not a deal breaker.

Nice little assortment for a baptism, good for girls and/or boys. The candle has a silk and gold embroidered wrap that I like very much. In my church you are supposed to light your baptismal candle every year on the anniversary of your baptism. We usually light it and put it out quickly because we don’t want to burn the candle up but with this wrap it wouldn’t really matter. You could easily replace the candle underneath and still feel as though you were lighting the “same” candle. The booklet also has a matching cover and is written in Spanish. The booklet cover is done so that you could remove it and replace the underlying book as well. I know there are some nice little New Testament Bibles about this size that you could swap out if you wanted an English version. The rosary is better than I anticipated. I expected a cheap plastic bauble but it’s actually a decent quality starter rosary and it comes in a circular clear plastic container that consistent with other rosaries I have purchased in Italy. The stars I dinged were because the listing did not say this was in Spanish, the towel that is included is a thin terry cloth that’s very plain (it’s ok but nothing special), the shell is a plasticky plastic not a real shell, and the “gift box” is a frosted cellophane sleeve over a thin white cake style box (definitely not a keepsake quality box). But all in all I just really love the gold embroidered Marry components. Those pieces alone are so cute and versatile.
