Breathtaking!
These CD’s will touch your heart in a way that will be profound and lasting. May I suggest that you sit back in your easy chair, shut the ringer off the phone, turn off the tv, crank up the volume on your stereo and be prepared to be swept away by it’s beauty?This music will give you goosebumps. This music will make you feel that you are literally in God’s presence, before his gifted angelic choir, listening to the most beautiful sounds you have ever heard.There isn’t enough space in this forum to totally express the way I feel about how this music has touched my life. If you never buy another CD, you should give this one a try. I loved it so much, that I am buying some for the most treasured people in my life…knowing that their hearts will be soothed, every time they play it. If you love untainted hymns, you will be blessed by these lofty recorded selections performed by the London Philharmonic Choir and National Philharmonic Orchestra. Two discs compress over fifty hymns to be savored over and over. And no…these are not light and airy, please-every-ear compositions, but are the solid rock truths of the faith. You can even attune to the atoning blood of Christ harmoniously exalted.My only displeasure was found in the absence of sing along lyrics. To decipher all the stanzas, owning a hymnbook is a must. It is important to obtain one while supplies still exist…I am not completely kidding. My husband and I were at a used book sale where a man was overjoyed to actually find a hymnbook. He wanted to learn the comprehensive praises that are cunningly being pushed out the back door of most churches.

The CD case these arrived in was broken and cracked, the discs themselves were unharmed and played without an issue. Great sound and good to listen to.

Love, love , love
Bought this for 93 year old mother. She absolutely loved it and was singing along with it. It is the old time church hymns I grew up with and I love them too. They are sung by a wonderful choir and sound just the way we sung them. Would recommend and would buy this again. Beautiful.

Traditional Hymns
My dad asked for a CD of traditional hymns for Father’s Day. He wanted a CD so he could listen to them when he was out running errands. My dad told me that this CD was wonderful and it took him back to his childhood days of going to church. If you’re looking for a CD of traditional hymns this would be a prefect gift yourself or someone special.

I bought this for my dad with alzheimers, but ended up giving it to my mum as she was always in a choir, and these hymns are sung by a choir. She would appreciate the style more. Don’t worry,I’m getting dad a different one ☺️

I am soon to join an Anglican Choir and am a bit rusty when it comes to Hymns; so these great recordings are an excellent way to catch up! I agree with some previous reviewers that certain selections are a bit short — my favourite hymn ALL CREATURES OF OUR GOD AND KING is just over a minute long! — but since these 2 CDs suit my purpose, why complain? We even enjoy listening to these at home over dinner — and that’s on week days! If you really like traditional hymns, this 2 CD set is perfect for you!

I would have given this one a full five stars, but for the very limited liner notes.I would have liked to know more about the choir(s, musicians, etc.A couple of hymns might be of American tastes, familiar words, but “new” tunes to me.Overall, one of the best compilations that I’ve ever heard. It has an honoured placein my collection.BTW, that’s not a typo, it’s how we spell “hounoured” in Canada. 🙂
