This Book is Just What I Wanted!
I love having inspirational books around for when I need to read something positive. I have a number of books and was interested in this one since it contains Bible verses specifically picked out for women. It was a nice price so I decided to get one for myself and one for a close mom friend of mine who also loves books like these.This book contains 199 Bible verses picked out especially for women. It is divided up based on what you may need at the time. The five sections are: “A Woman Relies on God for His…,” “What to Do When I Need…,” “Popular Bible Verses Concerning…,” “A Woman’s Heart Reflects God’s…,” and “Promises from God When I Experience…”. Within each section are many reasons a woman may need to read a Bible verse such as for strength, courage, and friendship. Besides the Bible verses, there are also some religious quotations included that pertain to those sections that are not included in the 199 Bible verses so you get some extra things to read. Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are taken from the New International Version (NIV) Bible. Other versions used in this book are the New Living Translation (NLT), New King James Version (NKJV), The Message, English Standard Version (ESV), and The Living Bible (TLB). There are four lined pages at the back where you can write down your own favorite Bible verses and four lined pages for notes. This book measures 4 1/4 inches by 7 inches and the verses are printed in black and gray type on white paper. There is also a page at the beginning to write who this book is to, from, and the date given if it is a gift.I was excited to receive this book because it was just what I was looking for! I love being able to open the Contents page, find a category based on what I need at that moment, and read all of the verses or just one verse. In general, each category contains six verses and quotations. I find the selection of verses to be very helpful and help me to refocus. If I want to read more about the verses, I can just grab my Bible and read some more, which I have done. I gave my friend one too and she loves it!I am very happy with this book and feel it was a good purchase for me. This book is small enough to stick in your purse or Bible cover. It would also look nice on your nightstand or coffee table. It also made me happy to give this book to my friend for Mother’s Day and the price of this book makes it easier to give a nice gift to your women friends and family. There is also a similar men’s version of this book, 199 Favorite Bible Verses for Men. I highly recommend this book for yourself or another woman in your life!
